At last I am able to edit my page. I am embarrassed that it has taken so long.
Here's what I've done so far:
Spoken to at least ten people about the TED talks,
but failed to find the 'future' video which I would love to show to my faculty
looked at wikispaces
talked to teachers and senior students about using wikis as a place to share notes.
talked up the year 9 empathy task in history and photostory/moviemaker
loaded our ICT course CD to our English/staffpublic page
loaded up the latest Notebook 10 Smartboard program for interactive whiteboard use and used it to create a year12 visual unit summary for Module B, Speeches.
Lots of talking. Some action soon I hope.
Susan, great to hear that you have been able to share so much with the teachers at your school. Here is the link to the video you are look forhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpEnFwiqdx8&feature=fvstAll the best with the next step.
Dear Richard and others,
I haven't edited but I have logged on here a few times. What have I been doing?
Apart from the usual, I have:
showed the vid. above to a whole staff meeting, shared it with a class of year 12 as a 'belonging' text in English
designed a year 11 English assessment task based on Richard's photo-essay ideas
included youtube and other links in a program of work and student work book
tried and failed, under pressure of time to create a photo-essay promo for Mod and Anc. history an then resorted to these videos on youtube to do the job. They were OK, but a bit US focussed.
So, not a huge amount done - but step by step.
Kind regards all,
See you Friday,
Sue James.
I'm here - Right Here, Right now editing my page on this space with a thousand new ideas to try out.
I can't wait. My plan is:
Get out of the city without being killed in traffic and heading towards Temora.
Stay awake for 5 hours while I drive. The good news is I have a novel, The Time Traveller's Wife to listen to as I drive.
Mark my last 50 essays on History and Memory and Speeches, work at our local theatre projecting for the first time on Sunday and
Have a go at putting Page Flakes on my home computer and write up/organise my notes from this workshop.
Tell the librarian about the Google Educators classroom posters
Tell my faculty about GE flyovers and models, G.Books, how to add music in Audacity, how to download from youtube,....etc., etc, Don't talk about Secon Life.I need a third life. Kind regards,
